Dr. Michael Donaire, MD
Dr. Donaire joined our practice in August 2014. He completed the Bariatric and Advanced Gastrointestinal Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY. Having earned his medical degree at St. George’s University, he completed his internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center of Manhattan and residency in general surgery at New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center.
Dr. Donaire specializes in laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, and laparoscopic gastric banding, as well as other advanced minimally invasive and general surgery procedures. With a Master of Public Health background, his philosophy on comprehensive care supports patients in their journey to a healthier life.

Dr. Ragui Sadek, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is Chief of the Bariatric Surgery Service Line for RWJBarnabas Health and founder of Advanced Surgical & Bariatrics of NJ. A board-certified surgeon specializing in bariatric, foregut, and advanced minimally invasive surgery, he built the bariatric surgery program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital from the ground up and leads it to complication rates consistently below national benchmarks.
Dr. Sadek has performed advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, revisional bariatric surgery, complex hernia repair, and anti-reflux surgery. He is Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Program Director of a Fellowship Council-accredited fellowship in advanced GI minimally invasive, bariatric, and foregut surgery.
