Dr. Ragui Sadek’s career has been one of significant experience and distinction. "When I started my residency in New York around 1999, I trained at one of the first Bariatric surgery centers established. I saw firsthand how we evolved from performing open procedures to the minimally invasive techniques we use nowadays. I was among one of the first physicians to care for post operative bariatric patients during that time." states Dr. Sadek.

After finishing his residency, Dr. Sadek became a Laparoscopic and Bariatric surgery fellow at Staten Island University Hospital. "During the time I spent at Staten Island University Hospital, I trained with some of the best Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive surgeons in New York and became the go-to surgeon for difficult cases", Dr. Sadek adds.

Dr. Sadek went on to join the esteemed UMD New Jersey department of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery in Newark, New Jersey as a Trauma and Critical Care Fellow. "Training at UMD New Jersey was one of the best experiences of my development as a surgeon. I worked alongside some nationally renowned Trauma surgeons and learned their techniques in dealing with critical situations. I was involved in clinical research which allows me to look at my results and always improve my outcomes. I also practiced Critical Care Medicine which allows me to offer the highest medical, surgical, and critical care for my patients," says Dr. Sadek.
